About

2015 is the year where we celebrate the 10 years of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). In June 2015, the United Nations will be launching a process leading to a meeting called a “High Level Event” to review the WSIS. The event will take place in December, in New York.

During various meetings in April and May 2015, a number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) historically engaged in the WSIS process and interested in its review became concerned that this year’s WSIS Review process would only involve government and intergovernmental organizations.  The organizations’ decided to write to the President of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) calling for an open and inclusive preparatory process.

The result is this site with both the letter as sent to the UNGA and also a request for more people and organizations to sign the letter.  Those signatories will be listed on this site and used to show the broad support for opening up the WSIS+10 Review process.

This site is operated by the Internet Society on behalf of the organizations involved.
